National Volunteer Week: Volunteering with a Twist

National Volunteer Week

We celebrate National Volunteer Week because we are inspired by our volunteers and want you to have the same kind of transformational experience. Each day we are delivering a post about taking action and encouraging individuals to be at the center of social change – discovering and demonstrating a collective power to make a difference. Check out the kick-off message and get motivated to give back.

Volunteering doesn’t have to be picking up trash in a park or helping out at the local food shelf (although both are pretty awesome, too). It can be a unique adventure. Check out these out-of-the-box volunteering options available.

Interested in the idea of traveling to volunteer either in the US or internationally? You can help with nature conservation along the Appalachian Trail or help save endangered sea turtles, or take other volunteering trips. Check out this starter list of volunteering options to get a better idea.

The Twilight Wish Foundation offers another unique opportunity to give back. Their mission is to celebrate senior citizens by making dreams and wishes come true. You can volunteer to help their day of surprise, by sponsoring an event or helping to spread the word.

If you could volunteer anywhere in the world for any cause, what would you do? Share your volunteer bucket list in our comments section below.
